probably a dumb question but, does an existing mortgage loan have to be current to apply for a loan ? we have paid off all credit card debt and are working with mortgage company to modify existing loan which is paid monthly but is still 2 months behind. Good income/job history, we refi'd right before housing crisis and ended up with a very bad mortgage loan deal in the end. We have good income and very good job history. My husband has muscular dystrophy and we have a mobility cart that we have to take apart to put in the vehicles and I can barely lift the parts to put it in. We need a full size van so we can put ramps on it and just drive the cart into it, fold up the ramps and go. I have a full time job and receive child support. Husband is a car salesman.
